Become a Volunteer
We are grateful to serve a community that supports animal welfare and recognizes the value of animal control. We are only able to provide the programs and resources that "change the way we shelter" because of you. Volunteers perform tens-of-thousands of service hours each year in a variety of ways that make things better for our animals and community.
Thank you for your interest in joining our volunteer team!
Use the icons below to learn more about each opportunity.
If you need to fulfill required service hours for academic or court-ordered purposes, you are welcome to apply for our community service program.

Duties include socializing cats, grooming, helping adopters find their perfect pet, assembling adoption carriers, working adoption events and just providing lots of love to the cats and kittens in our care.
The next step is to attend a Volunteer Interest Meeting.

Join Pawsabilities
Pawsabilities is our program that gives community members who have special needs the opportunity to participate in activities and volunteerism at the animal center. There are two options available: group classes and individual volunteering. Our goal is to include everyone who wants to be a part of the WCAC community and help care for our pets. Our hope is that these experiences are mutually beneficial.
