Book Buddies is a program meant to benefit both shelter residents and readers; providing a non-judgmental space for children to practice their reading skills, and for cats to receive social interaction.
Book Buddies is a program meant to benefit both shelter residents and readers; providing a non-judgmental space for children to practice their reading skills, and for cats to receive social interaction.
During Book Buddies, readers will have the opportunity to read to our cat residents. At this time, we are only able to offer reading to cats. We have eight free-roaming cat rooms that children may go into to read.
This program is for children 5-12 years old. An orientation is required to participate in the Book Buddies Reading Program. Limited spaces are available. To sign up, please complete the application online at: http://adoptwcac.org/202/Book-Buddies
