Cat Volunteer Orientation - November
Wednesday, November 16, 2022
How old do I have to be to volunteer with cats?
To volunteer with cats you must be 14 years of age or older. Children younger than 14 may
volunteer with an adult as a “junior volunteer.” If you are under 14 and wish to volunteer with
cats, you must attend orientation and training with the adult who will be volunteering with you.
When can I volunteer?
Cat volunteer shifts are one hour long. You can volunteer Monday through Friday, anytime
between 10am-6pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. If you volunteer on
Saturday, you will be required to work with adopters. On Sunday, we are closed to the public.
We do ask that any volunteer who signs up to train is willing to work a minimum of one shift per
week.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteer duties include socializing cats, grooming, helping adopters find their perfect pet,
assembling adoption carriers, working adoption events and just providing lots of love to the cats
and kittens in our care.
How do I start?
Come to one of our monthly orientations! Dates and times are listed below. You do not need to
sign-up or register in advance.
During the orientation, you will sign up for a second hands-on training session. Multiple times
and dates will be available throughout the following two weeks. After your hands-on training,
you will be able to sign-up to volunteer.
Where is orientation?
Orientation and training are held at the center, located at 1006 Grigsby Hayes Court in Franklin.
