The New Year is bringing change to a long-standing program at WCAC.  Beginning in January, the shelter’s monthly rabies vaccination clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and the line closes at 10:30 a.m.  Tennessee law requires any cat or dog over six months of age be vaccinated against rabies.  Rabies vaccinations are $10 each at the shelter’s clinics and microchipping is available for $15; only cash or check payment is accepted.  A collar tag and certificate are included as proof of vaccination.

Thanks to Petco Love’s “Vaccinated & Loved” initiative, Feline HCP and Canine DAPPv vaccinations are now available during clinics as well at no additional cost.  Basic vaccinations are generally accepted as one of the simplest ways that you can promote long, healthy lives for your pets. 

Clinics are usually on the last Saturday of each month, but the schedule may vary due to holidays so it's a good idea to check our website calendar or social media to be sure. You do not need to make an appointment, but it is helpful if you pre-register your pets and please be sure to have them in a carrier or on a leash while you're at the center.
